How to read a gas meter

Check the unit of the meter


Gas meters are in cubic feet (ft3) or cubic meters (m3). This information will be written on the meter.


Check if readings are to the decimal place


Decimal place digits will typically be indicated by being smaller, having a different colour backing, being in a different colour (e.g. red), and/or an actual decimal point marked (though often very small). You do not have to record decimal places when entering your gas readings in Pilio, just the whole numbers. If you want to record the decimal place, make sure to insert the decimal separator ".".
