How to see the impact of energy-saving actions (CUSUM chart)

When on a per-building view, to see if you are saving after taking an energy-saving measure, go to Performance > Heating > CUSUM. The CUSUM chart shows how much energy your building has saved after the date that an energy efficiency measure was taken. Your building has saved energy if its actual consumption is less than your expected consumption.

Before an energy-saving action, the CUSUM chart will normally fluctuate around or above zero. After an energy-saving action (e.g. installing an eco boiler) the CUSUM chart should start to dip more and more into negative values since you are consistently using less energy than predicted. This allows you to clearly see how much energy (and money) you are saving. If the CUSUM chart shows increasing energy consumption, this is a sign something has gone wrong in your heating system.

You can use the 'From' and 'To' date boxes on the CUSUM chart to tell Pilio when you took your energy-saving action and to make sure the chart is displaying the correct information.
