Where are estimated readings used

Pilio creates estimated readings for weeks when you have been unable to add an actual reading, or if you added your actual reading on a day other than Monday. There are two types of estimated readings created in Pilio:

1) Readings not entered on a Monday.

To match the time period for the data set Pilio uses to analyse your building's heating performance, a week in Pilio starts at 12.01am on a Monday and ends at 12.00 midnight the following Sunday. If you enter a meter reading on any day of the week other than a Monday, Pilio will automatically calculate - or interpolate - what the reading would have been if you had entered it on the Monday. The calculation uses the last two actual readings and interpolates what the reading for the Monday between those readings would be. The date and value of the actual reading is still recorded and you can view this by going to: Data > View Meters and selecting the meter you want to view.

In the table of Monday readings, the actual readings which were entered on a Monday appear in bold. All the other Monday readings are interpolated. Click on the 'Actual Readings' tab to see the readings and the dates when you entered readings.

2). Missed week.

If you miss a weekly reading for any reason, Pilio will work out from the most recently entered reading what the readings would have been for the missed weeks. These readings are not in bold.
