The floor area of your building is important as it allows us to calculate how much energy your building uses per metre squared.

We use this figure to compare your building with other buildings of a similar type which is important in benchmarking. Benchmarking your energy use against similar buildings is a good way to see how well you are performing in your energy use. For example, if you see that the electricity consumption for your building is much higher than the typical use for a similar building, you'll know that you can probably be quite a bit more efficient than you are currently.

What happens if I don't know my floor area?

You can still see how much energy your building consumes, how much money is spent on energy, and how much carbon is emitted without your floor area. The heating performance analysis is available without your floor area.
