It can be very easy to make an error when reading your meters. Here are some tips for avoiding making mistakes when recording your meter readings:

1) Take a photo of your meter and draw a box around the digits to be recorded into Pilio. Stick this on the meter and/or circulate it to all those responsible for meter readings.

2) Check the weekly tracking chart results each week. You will quickly see if there might be an error and this is the best way to spot and prevent energy wastage.

3) Look at the previous week's readings either on the prompt when entering a meter reading or on the meter reading page (go to Data > Buildings & Transport > click on meter name) and ensure the reading is higher (unless there has been a meter rollover - see Meter rollover FAQ for more information on this.
